Countless dogs condemned to suffer
We are incredibly disappointed that a Court of Appeal judge has just denied us permission to appeal the Yorkshire Beagles case.
The earlier High Court ruling effectively paves the way for B&K Universal Ltd to expand its beagle breeding farm in Grimston, East Yorkshire, without providing outdoor access to the dogs.
Countless dogs could now be bred in the tiny hamlet in Yorkshire and sold to laboratories across the UK and Europe.

Despite strong opposition from local residents and the animal welfare community, thousands of dogs have effectively now been condemned to a life of misery, destined to suffer and die in experiments.”

Our challenge to the very poorly reasoned arguments made by the Home Office was all that stood in the way of the expansion going ahead and the suffering of countless dogs. We will now press ahead with our campaign for a full ban on dog experiments.”
It is only thanks to the generosity of our supporters that we have been able to lead the campaign against the development of the breeding farm since 2011, and successfully prevent two previous applications to expand the facility. Together we were able to take our case all the way to the High Court.
With your help, last June we lodged an application for permission to appeal against the High Court decision, which has disappointingly been rejected. Sadly, this was the last opportunity to save the Yorkshire Beagles.
