UN business group could help make a difference for animals

We’re delighted to announce that our application to join the United Nations Global Compact has been successful. The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative run by companies around the world. It includes some of the very biggest names in business such as KPMG, Bloomberg, Microsoft, Coca-Cola and Nike. The Compact brings together companies that want to make sure what they do is in line with global standards on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and help to improve society.

Consumers all over the world have clearly shown they want businesses to stop testing products on animals. And we think that’s not only good for consumers but also for animals, industry and trade.

Our Chief Executive Michelle Thew is meeting the Compact in New York to see how we can use the experience that we have built up by running the Leaping Bunny certification and developing alternative tests to support businesses and help make the change to responsible production that consumers are demanding.

Michelle Thew says: “We’re delighted to join the UN Global Compact and help the world’s top businesses become a force for good. We will share our experience of running the Leaping Bunny certification and support companies make the changes needed to stop animal testing. Together business and NGO’s can work side by side to make the world a better place and end unnecessary animal suffering.”
